The celebrated Texas architecture firm of Lake/Flato are known for designs uniquely rooted in place. Situated in the northern Sonoran Desert, strong geometry blends with a palette of natural materials that complement the landscape; all carefully configured to focus on expansive desert vistas and a pastoral golf course site.

Presented as a series of public and private courts with indigenous plantings, oversized steel and glass pivot doors fully opened to take advantage of the seasonally temperate climate. The only design by Lake/Flato in Arizona, the Architects created this home in sync with their mission to incorporate local materials and partnering with the best local craftsmen, creating a residence that is tactile and modern, environmentally responsible and authentic, artful and beautifully executed.

A desert home, broad overhangs shade the glass-enclosed living spaces from the harsh desert sun. Natural weathered steel and earth-colored stucco and plasters anchor this home to the site.
