And with simplicity came organization, clarity and honesty! Being one of Beadles first designs (1957), his own residence and designed to accommodate his growing family, not only was it clearly ahead of it’s time, but a true statement in early modernism.
Quite possibly Beadle’s most well know designs with numerous publishing credits, it remains one of his most famous designs and cherished locally by every architecture enthusiast. Today, the house still proudly “floats” above the desert floor in it’s dramatic setting at the base of Camelback Mountain, as Mr. Beadle intended and in all of it’s sublime and monolithic glory, but sadly in need of a major restoration.
The current owners have already gone through great lengths with the city, preservation and restorative designs by local architects to bring this historically significant home back to life, and to make the same simple statement it did in 1957.
