Don Hammer

In loving memory…

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce that our beloved Managing Broker, associate, mentor, colleague and dear friend, Don Hammer, passed away recently this year.

Debbie and I have known both Don and his wife Jane for well over thirty years. To say that Don was a true Gentlemen is spot on but is not enough. He was a man of beautiful demeanor, brilliant and inquisitive with a sharp mind.  Professional, strong and steady in business, he was always calm and fair, holding all the attributes of a Renaissance Man.  But we will always remember him for his kind, patient, gentle and humanist approach to life.

When we had the opportunity to include Don in our company family, we were overjoyed at the possibility to have his expertise and wisdom available for all of us, and selfishly, Debbie and I were just so pleased that we could spend more time with him. We will always remain grateful for his contributions that were many indeed.   We will retain his posting here for a time in loving memory of a special person.

MORE ABOUT DON:  Don began his career as a multi-family income property agent. Early on he was called upon to establish and operate a California brokerage at the request of Freddie Mac. Don successfully marketed Arizona REO properties for Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and 10 other institutions. With over 3,200 Arizona residential transactions, Don offers the kind of experience that only comes from a long-term Real Estate career!

Don’s accomplishments include experience as a multi-year Office Manager at the highly coveted Realty Executives Paradise Valley office, where he oversaw over 125 productive agents. Don is a long-term member of Luxury Home Tour (LHT) and was a multi-year chairman of the Premier Marketing Group – a select, ‘invitation only’ group of 100 high-production/high-character agents.

With decades of experience in new home sales, development and construction of “celebrity grade” luxury homes, Don has additional experience in renovation, rehabilitation and new construction. Previously, Don was also a licensed Arizona Appraiser.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Don has been a Phoenix resident since 1968. He is a Vietnam veteran and was part of the US Army Signal Corp Research & Development Center. He is survived by his wife Jane, a retired Realtor, and his two dogs, a 5 year old Yorkie named Mikey and a 20 year old Poodle named Molly. Don enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren Bailey, 16, and Cooper, 14. In additional to his real estate pursuits, Don enjoyed a wide variety of entrepreneurial adventures and harbored a strong affinity for all things mechanical, electronic and scientific.

Don was a Managing Broker at azarchitecture Jarson & Jarson where his Real Estate acumen, sales, and dynamic personal skills were the perfect fit to our unique team concept.
