The Passing of Frank Henry

The Passing of Frank Henry

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of Architect Frank Henry. A recent friend, we enjoyed every moment that we shared with this creative and generous man.

He was someone deeply committed to his craft and his dedication was always evident. Possessor of so much information, he never was hesitant in sharing what he knew. We knew him as a genuine person, so easy to be with, and so willing to impart his knowledge.
When the David Wright Home was threatened, Frank was there at every step. What’s more, he leaves us with a rich architectural legacy in his own right, one that will be cherished.

Our thoughts are with those he loved and we share a moment of great sadness during this time of significant loss. We, like so many, will miss him.

This today from the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture:

“Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing yesterday of our revered and beloved Frank Henry, who was taken to Scottsdale Memorial Hospital late Friday with a heart attack.

Frank has inspired generations of architecture students and made our world richer with his designs, built and unbuilt. He has charmed tens of thousands of visitors on his tours of Taliesin West and been a passionate advocate of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and Paolo Soleri.

For so many of us for whom Frank was our “rock” to lean on, there will be an empty place in the Drafting Room and in our hearts.

We extend our condolences to his wife Ruth and to their family. Memorial service details will be forthcoming.
